Davide Ballardini was brought in mid-season by Genoa after Gian Piero Gasperini had left the club sitting in mid-table.

President Enrico Preziosi claims he will decide if Ballardini gets a contract renewal by the end of April.

The forty-seven year old coach may be on his way out however he told reporters, “I have already received a few offers, but I would certainly like to stay, (in Genoa). I don’t know where I’ll be next season”.

While speaking to Italian newspaper Secolo XIX, the ex-Cesena player also spoke about Preziosi: “The President is absolutely free to make his own decisions, as am I.

“We are all free people. I am grateful to President Preziosi for bringing me here and we have a mutual respect, so what ever happens happens”.

Genoa are currently twelfth in Serie A, four points ahead of Chievo, and level on points with Cagliari whom they face at home at the weekend.
