Rossineri coach Masimilliano Allegri has revealed that Phillipe Mexes and Taye Taiwo have already been signed to Milan for next season.

When asked about the clubs plans this summer, the former Cagliari tactician revealed the club had already started preparing for next year, starting at the back.

“We’ll be fine in defence as we’ve signed Mexes and Taiwo” the coached quipped on Monday afternoon.

Taiwo, who has had a stellar season with Marseille in Ligue 1, and have been on Milan’s radar for a while, and Il Diavolo will hope that the arrival of the Nigerian will end the left back conundrum once and for all at Milanello.

While Mexes, who admitted earlier in the year that he would be departing the capital, was also heavily linked to the Lombardy club, and will provide a solid alternative to Alessandro Nesta, who is nearing the end of his illustrious career.

Both players joined on a Bosman agreement, simulteanously reaching the end of their respective contracts.

Aside from announcing the new arrivals, Allegri turned his attention towards the Coppa Italia game against Palermo.

“Does a possible final with Inter fascinate me? I’m just fascinated by the final.”

“When you are at Milan you can’t stop when you win something because after the Scudetto there is the Coppa, and after the Coppa the Super Cup…”

“You always have to look ahead”

Allegri also commented on the condition of Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Kevin Prince Boateng, who are both doubts for the game in Sicilly on Tuesday.

“We have to evaluate the comdition of Ibrahimovic who we hope to recover, and Kevin Prince Boateng too, as well as Gianluca Zambrotta and Alessandro Nesta.”
