Palermo president Maurizio Zamparini has revealed the price it would take for the club to part company with young Argentinean Javier Pastore. £45 million bid from Chelsea for Javier Pastore.

It was thought Chelsea made a huge €44 million offer for the 21-year-old which was rejected by Zamparini, but he apparently did not receive any such offer, though if he did, it would likely be accepted.

“How could anyone turn down €50m cash for Pastore? I never saw such an offer,” Zamparini told Il Giornale.

“Do you think if they put that money on the table, that I would throw it away?

“I don’t know if Chelsea ever made this offer. It might’ve been to his agent, but it never reached me. If it did arrive, then I would think about it carefully.

“Pastore is a player worthy of top clubs, like Barcelona, Real Madrid, Manchester United, Milan or Inter,” added Zamparini.

“He is tied to the Palermo jersey, but he also looks at his wallet. How can I keep a player when elsewhere they are offering four times his current wages?

“We have already mapped out two teams with our new coach Stefano Pioli: one with Pastore and one without.”?
