Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is lining up a move for one of Inter Milan’s best defenders, according to the latest reports.

Wenger has come under fire in recent weeks, with the news that a number of his star players are likely to leave the Emirates stadium this summer.

In order to counter such reports, Fanatix has revealed that the French tactician has his sights set on Inter defender Lucio, to help bolster the club’s defensive ranks next season.

Reports of the shock move have emerged following comments made by the Nerazzurri director Marco Branca, who revealed the player and club were failing to reach an agreement over a new contract.

“There is a problem over the length of Lucio’s contract in the renegotiations,” Branca told Sky Italia.

The Brazilian World Cup winner of 2002 would be an exceptional addition to Wenger’s squad, and whilst the move is unlikely, persisting rumours should keep Gunners’ fans happy for the time being.

Wenger has also been linked with a move for Brazilian born Italian international Thiago Motta by English newspaper The Daily Mail, who claim that Arsenal will target the midfielder after missing out on Ricky Alvarez.

Arsenal is a flying plane but it is apparently on auto-pilot right now. The pilot (Ass-ne Venga) in deep slumber. Venga’s ‘co-pilots’ (the Board of Arsenal FC) are deeply snoozing but hallucinating – dreaming, visualising a huge feast off the wind-fall from the sales of the club’s star players. Meanwhile, the sound clearly indicates the plane (Arsenal FC’s) engine has developed a fatal break-down and a crash from a high altitude is inevitable. The cabin crew (Nasri, Clichy, Walcott, Fabregas etc) aware of imminent tragedy, are secretly collecting parachutes, ready to jump to safety. The plane’s passengers (Arsenal FC fans) are meanwhile singing their favorite – eternal tune – “In Arsene We Trust”.

Wenger says he won’t jeopardise the financial stability of the club by spending on players. He can’t have it both ways. His project y has not been working the last five years. What makes him think it will work in the coming season?
If he persists and the gunners are found wanting,he should be axed.No question. In fact by not getting the players to fire the gunners ,he risk s turning the gunners into a midtable team on par with AV/Everton and Bolton.
