Liverpool manager Kenny Dalglish has set his sights on signing one of Inter Milan’s key defenders, to fill the void at left-back for next season.

Having just added Charlie Adam from Blackpool to his squad, Dalglish is hoping to land another big name in the next week, with the Nerazzurri’s Cristian Chivu being touted as a potential addition to his squad.

According to Tribalfootball, the Reds are keen to move for the Romanian, however his high wage demands may cause a problem for the English club.

Chivu rejected an offer from Valencia last week, however the Merseyside club are hopeful that the 30-year-old will lower his demands in order to make the move.

Chivu has spent almost a decade in Italy, playing for both Inter and Roma, winning three Serie A titles and a UEFA Champions League in his time.
