In Saturday’s convincing 3-1 victory over Atalanta, Roma captain Francesco Totti was forced to leave the pitch in the second half because of an injury.
However, ‘Er Pupone’ reassured the fans on his conditions following the match.
“Fortunately I’m feeling good,” he wrote on his official site FrancescoTotti.com. “During the second half I felt a pain to my hip and I left the pitch for precaution. But soon after the pain diminished and already in the dressing room I felt better.
“It’s always too bad to have to leave the pitch for these kinds of reasons. I probably could have played out the match, but the important thing is that Roma won. The three points have allowed us to climb up the table.”
The Giallorossi are currently in fourth place with 8 points from five matches. Now Luis Enrique’s team will look to the upcoming Rome derby with renewed confidence.
“Now we have the league break before the derby, which will give us a chance to get back our injured players, to arrive at the derby in the best possible conditions,” Totti concluded.
