Recently Inter striker Diego Forlan suffered an umpteenth muscular injury in what has been a nightmare first season for the Uruguayan at the Nerazzurri. So far he has scored just once, in the opening match against Palermo.
Inevitably, there have been rumours of a possible departure in the January transfer window, with some sources suggesting a possible exchange deal with Sao Paulo involving playmaker Lucas. However, the player’s agent Daniel Bolotnicoff denied this.
“I can assure there has been no contact with Sao Paulo,” he said to FcInterNews.it. “I want to specify that Diego is very happy at Inter and the only thing on his mind is to help the team to win something important. He’s not thinking about leaving Milan in the slightest, and I deny these voices of an exchange with Lucas.”
Forlan’s recent injury means Luc Castaignos, another new player who has not found much space in the team, might stay with Inter after all. The Dutchman was said to be on his way out as well, at least on a loan spell to a smaller club.
