Whenever AC Milan star Zlatan Ibrahimovic gives interviews, he almost always stirs up controversy and makes the headlines.

His recent autobiography already contained many interesting revelations, and now his latest anecdotes about his period at Ajax are also bound to turn a few heads.

On first meeting former Milan legend Marco Van Basten, he told Dutch daily newspaper Algemeen Dagblad, “I still remember the first time I saw him, we were in the Ajax dressing room. He was there to do an internship to become a coach, he was walking around and I didn’t know what to say.

“With time I got to know him more, he’s a nice person aside from a former great striker.”

So far so good. However, his next comments about coach Louis Van Gaal, who worked for the Ajax management when Ibrahimovic played there, were of an entirely different nature.

“He has no sense of humour, he’s a dictator,” he continued. “One day he told me I should think more about the team, while Van Basten advised me to do the exact opposite. I asked him, ‘should I listen to Van Gaal or a legend?’. I don’t think he liked that.”
