After making a name for himself in South America at Velez Sarsfield, Ricardo Alvarez joined Inter last summer with a lot of expectations from fans and press alike.
However, the Argentine had a tough start to his Italian adventure, failing to maintain a place in the team consistently.
Things have started to improve in recent times under coach Claudio Ranieri, with whom he has a very good relationship.
“It’s clear he cares about me, because he talks a lot to me and gives me a lot of advice,” he said to Inter Channel. “Now he’s telling me I have to look for the goal and score more, since so far I have I have mostly preoccupied myself with giving assists.
“I’ve played well in some matches, and not so well in others. The Italian league is very difficult, and substantially different to the South American one that I was used to. With time I gained confidence and my performances improved, but I still have to improve a lot.”
Alvarez has scored two goals for Inter in all competitions since joining last summer.
