On Sunday recorded an amazing 5-1 home win against Lazio. President Maurizio Zamparini, known for rarely giving positive comments about any of his coaches, but yesterday he praised current coach , who he seems to be able to give more trust than his predecessors.

“Have I ever said Mutti is my [Jose] Mourinho? No, that’s what you journalists have been saying, Mutti is more humble than the Portuguese, he’s better than Mourinho,” he said to Repubblica.it.

“Will he renew his contract? It’s early to talk about it, it’s clear that if he continues like this he will reconfirm himself.”

After an inconsistent first part of the season, Palermo finally seem to have hit their stride, and they were superb against Lazio.

“I don’t know if we could have hoped for anything more this season, for us it’s a transition year,” Zamparini continued. “Let’s not set ourselves any objectives, we’ll think about that after hitting 40 points. Now we are only aiming to play well.”
