Claudio Marchisio could be the man to fill the boots of Alessandro Del Piero stated a former Juventus president.

As Del Piero’s contract expired this summer, the Bianconeri will begin their new campaign without the player for this first time in 20 years.

The No 10 shirt has not been assigned to anyone yet, and Giovanni Cobolli Gigli believes Turin-born Marchisio could become the Old Lady’s next legend.

Speaking to Radio Sportiva the former president said, “Life continues by looking to the future, but the memory of what Del Piero was will last forever,”

“He was the greatest player in the club’s history alongside Giampiero Boniperti. Now let us hope that we can find a worthy successor and that could be Marchisio.”

Marchisio worked his way through the clubs youth system and has been a fan Juventus since he was a boy.
