Roma have courageously rejected a bid of €25 million from Barcelona for Miralem Pjanic, as reported by Corriere dello Sport.

In recent times, the Bosnian has attracted plenty of attention from Germany, Spain and England prompting the Giallorossi to declare him ‘unsellable’.

It is rumored that Bayern Munich have also offered €20 million for the former Lyon player.

Pjanic was bought for €11 million, payable in three installments, and the last payment is due on June 30, 2013.

His contract is worth more than €3.6 million per year, which is subject to rise up to €4.5 million per year by the start of 2014-15 season.

Hence, from a financial point of view, the decision was hard to make.

  1. Eric Johnson says:

Wow. As a Bosnian, I want Pjanic to go to another, maybe bigger club and have a nice, solid, or even great career. Having his manager forcing him to stay at the club (whether pjanic wants it or not) is just holding him back. No disrespect to AS Roma, as I am a fan, but if I was Pjanic, then I would pushing for a move away from my current and mediocre club to a bigger and maybe more decent one.
