Today’s highlights…

Having endured a frustrating summer of losing their biggest stars, Milan fans could be in for some good news at last with the club opening talks tomorrow with Real Madrid in New York City over the transfer of Kaka after the two sides play against each other.

They have ended their interest in Mapou Yanga-Mbiwa who is now wanted by Newcastle United, the Rossoneri could now make a move for Caen youngster M’Baye Niang.

Unfortunately for city rivals Inter, it seems they have finally given up the ghost in attempting to bring Lucas Moura to the club and will instead focus their attention on trying to tempt Arjen Robben or Andre Schurrle to San Siro.

Juventus are still very much retaining their interest in Edin Dzeko although Manchester City are standing firm on their €25m asking price at the moment although they have also not given up hope of signing Liverpool’s Luis Suarez and the Bianconeri are also keeping tabs on Napoli target Wallace.

Should the Old Lady fail to bring in Pablo Armero from Udinese, it is believed they have set their sights on former Lazio man Aleksandar Kolarov while they are also keen on Bruno Alves.

Manchester City will not be content to simply allow their stars to leave for Serie A and in an attempt to see the roles reversed, Roberto Mancini is set to up his initial bid of €20m to a massive €30m in an attempt to take Daniele De Rossi from Roma.

The Italian international may not be the only midfielder who could leave the club this summer though as David Pizarro’s time in the capital looks to be up and he is wanted by Argentine outfit River Plate.

The Giallorossi striker Pablo Osvaldo is also being linked with a La Liga return as Europa League winners Atletico Madrid are chasing the Italian.

Aleandro Rosi has also this afternoon cancelled his contract with Roma which had two years left to run on it by mutual consent and he will likely pen a deal with Parma this week.

Fiorentina are still looking to add to their ranks and the club today admitted that they are hopeful that Ryan Babel will arrive at the club this week.

However, Michele Camporese refuses to be loaned out this season and wants to stay at the Viola to fight for his place but he could face competition in the defence after Atalanta reportedly offered Federico Peluso to the Tuscan club.

Lazio and Genoa are close to agreeing a deal that will see them swap players with Juan Pablo Carrizo heading to the Marassi with Andreas Granqvist going the other way.

The Grifone are also keen on bringing Matuzalem from the Biancocelesti too.

Bologna have also heightened their interest in bringing in French striker Jeremy Perbet while Chievo Verona face a fight if they are to stop Marco Andreolli leaving this summer.

Serie A’s newboys are also increasing their transfer activity this week with Sampdoria first of all trying to bring Bruno Uvini in despite Roma being the favourites to secure his signature.

The Blucerchiati also hope to bring former Juventus midfielder Enzo Maresca back to the peninsula from Malaga this week while Fernando Tissone could be set for a permanent Spanish switch by joining Sevilla.

Torino are also staying busy with Abdelkader Ghezzal close to agreeing a deal with the club.

Finally, Pescara were not to be left out as they are on the verge of completing the loan signing of Masahudu Alhassan from Genoa.
