Today’s highlights…

Juventus received a double dose of bad news today after it emerged that Robin van Persie is unlikely to sign for them this summer while Luis Suarez penned a new contract with Liverpool.

However, every cloud has a silver lining and that could well be their renewed interest in bringing Stevan Jovetic to Juventus Stadium from Fiorentina who remain adamant that it will take €30m to prise him away from Tuscany and it is understood they will continue to leave the door open for the signing of Edin Dzeko.

Fernando Llorente has also today been linked with a surprise move to the Bianconeri who may try to tempt Federico Peluso away from Atalanta ahead of the rest of the massive list of suitors.

Unfortunately for Inter it also seems that they will miss out on one of their prime transfer targets as Lucas Moura who has signed with Paris Saint Germain.

They will though turn now to another young attacking talent in Russian wonderkid Alan Dzagoev with Marco Branca saying of the CSKA Moscow star that “anything is possible.”

Although almost to make up for taking Lucas away from the Nerazzurri, PSG are considering offering winger Nene to the Milanese giants this summer after he became surplus to requirements in the French capital.

Negotiations are also underway between Inter and Tottenham Hotspur to discuss the transfer of Julio Cesar to the London club.

Milan have also completed the signing of former Udinese defender Cristian Zapata on a one year deal from Villarreal.

Yesterday it seemed that the likeliest destination for departing Roma midfielder David Pizarro was that the player would join River Plate but he could now be set to stay in the peninsula by joining Fiorentina’s purple revolution.

There are also strange reports emerging today that Marco Borriello and Antonio Cassano could be set for a return to their former clubs with Milan and Roma considering a swap deal.

Brazilian full-back Muralha of Flamengo is wanted by Udinese who will have to fight it out with Bayer Leverkusen to sign the player and they will need to spend up to €3.5m to bring him to the Friuli.

Galatasaray are closing in on deals to bring two Serie A stars to Turkey with the signing of Felipe Melo a formality at this stage although they are also moving to take Mauro Zarate from Lazio after contract talks broke down between the player and the club.

Napoli are also interested in bringing Giandomenico Mesto to the club from Genoa while they are also keen on bringing Argentine youngster Ricardo Centurion to the club from Racing Club.

Parma have also completed the signing of Aleandro Rosi after the player’s release from Roma yesterday while Chievo Verona have also finalised the permanent signing of Dario Dainelli left Genoa.

Sergio Almiron of Catania could be on his way out of the club in the coming days after it emerged that Fiorentina and Torino are extremely interested in bringing the player to either Florence or Turin.

Finally, Pescara president Daniele Sebastiani admitted that the club were in desperate need to sign a striker and their number one target is believed to be Lazio’s Emiliano Alfaro.
