Newcastle United’s Davide Santon could be set for a return to Serie A with Roma, according to his agent.

Santon made the breakthrough with Inter in the peninsula but was unhappy at his lack of first team opportunities and departed for the Premier League two years ago.

Agent Claudio Vigorelli said: “A move for Davide to Roma might be of interest to us. I know they could be interested because they are building a good, young squad under Zdenek Zeman.

“Although everything is fine with us in Newcastle, if the interest of Roma is true then it would be a great opportunity.”

Santon has not always been first choice under Alan Pardew on Tyneside and has struggled somewhat with injuries since joining the Magpies but remains part of Devis Maniga’s plans for the Italian U-21 side.

Newcastle turned down a bid from Roma in the summer, and Santon said he was pleased with the decision as he does not want to go back to Italy for many years.

Also, he’s firmly first choice, and has been for some time.

Agents are just the scum of the earth!!
This leaves me thinking that Vigorelli is speaking with Roma trying to get a deal going, and whats this ‘interesting to us’ crack?!

He got time to get accustomed to the league and has played in every match since. Lazy writing, try and do some research man. Santon is a first XI defender week in and week out.
