Parma snatched a late 1-1 draw against Fiorentina at the Stadio Tardini in Serie A on Saturday evening.

La Viola went ahead through Facundo Roncaglia’s debut strike but Jamie Valdes tucked home a penalty in time added on to earn a point for the Gialloblu.

It was Vincenzo Montella’s men who were on top for the majority of the first half and took the lead after 20 minutes through Roncaglia, whose rasping shot from outside the penalty area thundered into the top corner.

The home side did come close to grabbing an equaliser when Alessandro Lucarelli headed onto the post, before Ishak Belfodil also had a chance late on in the half.

Roncaglia almost managed a second goal, but overstretched, he could only direct a Mati Fernandez freekick onto the post.

The second half starting in much the same fashion, with Fiorentina asserting their dominance from the off, but Parma were then awarded a penalty 10 minutes in.

Roncaglia was once more in the thick of the action as he brought down Pabon. However Jamie Valdes saw the resulting spot kick saved by Emilano Viviano.

Fiorentina though continued to have more of the ball as they searched for a second goal.

Towards the end of the game Parma had Rosi sent off after he collected two yellow cards. Though they did have one excellent chance right at the death, but Viviano produced an excellent save to deny Amauri.

Then, in injury time, Jamie Valdes made up for his earlier penalty miss after Luca Toni handled in the area resulting in another spot kick to the home side, which Valdes tucked away to earn a dramatic point for Parma.
