Arsenal defender’s Roma link denied

Arsenal defender Johan Djourou could be set to leave the club in January but his agent has denied any contact with Serie A side Roma.

The 25-year-old has recently been linked with a move to the Giallorossi, who are struggling at the back.

“There is absolutely nothing there. I can categorically deny any contact with Roma,” his agent Flavio Ferraria told ilsussidiario.net.

“Is Djourou the ideal player for Zeman? He is young and versatile, so could well be useful for Zeman. I am sure he has the right qualities for this style of football.

“Djourou wants to play and this is why we will talk to Arsene Wenger. Meanwhile we are preparing for January and evaluating the situation carefully.

“Does he have a future in Italy? It’s possible, he just wants to play, whether it’s in England, Italy or another country.”
