summer signing has revealed his contentment with his transfer to the from relegated .

After plying his trade in the Spanish Primera Division and England’s Premier League throughout his career, the Spain international elected to move to with the Viola despite interest from a variety of clubs, including Atletico Madrid and Tottenham Hotspur.

“During the summer I received many offers, some very interesting ones, but in the end I preferred Fiorentina,” Borja explained to Spanish newspaper Marca.

“I feel happy in Florence and the team is ideal for my characteristics – and I think I can still improve as a player.

“Serie A is a League where physicality and tactics command, but we can count on a great tactician like Vincenzo Montella.”

The former man has enjoyed an excellent start to the campaign with the Tuscan outfit, starting in all 7 of Fiorentina’s fixtures whilst recording 2 assists and completing 84% of his passes in the process.
