Marotta feels referee mistakes not decisive

Sporting director of does not believe that the refereeing errors in his side’s win over were vital to the final score.

“The Catania goal was clean but it would not have been decisive in this match,” he said. “Nobody can say we would not have overturned the result because we dominated the game.

“I recognise that it was a mistake by the referee but at the same time I think our victory was fully deserved.”

Juventus players on the bench, namely and , were accused of protesting wildly against the Catania goal which brought about the decision to rule it out, something Marotta does not agree with.

“I have watched it again and there was a consultation between the referee, linesman and goal line judge and it seems illogical to insinuate that our players have the power to force officials to change their decisions.”
