Cagliari striker identified as Napoli’s vice-Cavani

Napoli have reportedly singled out Cagliari’s Marco Sau as the man they want to be their ‘vice-Cavani’.

The 24-year-old was splashed all over the pink pages this weekend following his two goal salvo against Inter leading to speculation in the peninsula now linking him with a move to the Partenopei.

The Rossoblu forward has a further five years left to run on his current contract, showing that the faith that the club have in him, and meaning he will come at a big cost for Napoli.

Walter Mazzarri is also a big fan of the player and wants to add him to the squad in January although Cagliari’s Massimo Cellino does not want to sell one of their prized assets.

In five starts this season, he has hit the back of the net four times.

Sergio Floccari, Rolando Bianchi, Cyril Thereau and Fabio Quagliarella are some of the names who have been previously linked with the club to help out ‘El Matador’ in attack.
