Lazio president Claudio Lotito insists it was not fans of his club who were behind the attacks on Tottenham fans on Wednesday night.

A number of Spurs fans were attacked in a the Drunken Ship pub in the Campo de Fiori area of the capital city, with one stabbed and critically ill.

And with Lazio ultras being blamed for the violence, Lotito has come to the defence of the Biancocelesti supporters.

“The Lazio fans have nothing to do with what happened at Camp de Fiori,” he told the press.

It has also been revealed that Italian police on the hunt for the culprits have searched the homes of 15 men in connection with the incident and among them is a Roma fan who had brass knuckles, iron bars and other weapons in his possession.
