Napoli and AC Milan shared the points in the Saturday night’s late kick off at the Stadio San Paolo, in an entertaining 2-2 draw.

The home side made a dream start when after just four minutes, Gokhan Inler drilled the ball past Christian Abbiati. With it looking as if nothing was on, Inler fired the ball with his left foot from almost 40 yards and the ball swerved past Abbiati, who arguably should of saved the shot.

The Rossoneri went close to equalising on the ninth minute after Kevin Prince Boateng played a low cross to Riccardo Montolivo who controlled and shot just wide.

It went from bad to worse for the visitors when Lorenzo Insigne doubled the Partenopei’s lead on the half hour mark. Christian Maggio drilled a low ball from the right wing and Insigne controlled and his shot took a slight deflection, and the ball slipped through Abbiati’s legs, to give the Azzurri a commanding lead.

Insigne then had a brilliant chance to all but finish the game just two minutes later he went one on one with Abbiati, but the young Neapolitan looked to square the ball to Edison Cavani instead of shooting himself, but the ball was cleared, and the Rossoneri were fortunate not to find themselves three goals down.

Stephan El Shaarawy then gave his side a lifeline just two minutes before the break with an outstanding goal. Mattia De Sciglio found El Shaarawy free on the edge of the box and the pharaoh curled the ball into the far top corner, continuing his fine goal scoring form this season.

Napoli came close to regaining their two goal lead on the 63rd minute, when Cavani pounced on a loose ball in defence but he was denied by the feet of Abbiati.

Cavani then turned provider five minutes later when he played through Marek Hamsik. The Slovakian found himself alone with the goalkeeper but couldn’t find the net, smashing the ball wide of the goal.

The away side continued to push for an equaliser, with Bojan Krkic coming close after rounding De Sanctis but Alessandro Gamberini recovered well to clear the danger.

El Shaarawy then struck again on the 82nd minute to equalise for the Rossoneri. Substitute Robinho made an almost instant impact as he slid the ball through to El Shaarawy, who made no mistake slotting the ball in to the bottom corner.
