The agent of Juventus’ Paul Pogba has criticized manager Antonio Conte for publicly shaming the midfielder.

The 19-year-old was expected to start, but instead was left out of the team for Saturday’s match against Pescara for showing up late to two training sessions.

The reasoning behind the decision was made public on the Bianconeri’s website, infuriating agent Mino Raiola, and causing him to criticize Conte’s ability to deal with situations like this.

“Whoever decided to release this news on the website is clearly confused,” he told La Gazzetta Dello Sport.

“I hope it was not Conte’s decision, and if it was, it means that he is incapable to deal with situations at this level.

“Paul is very upset with what happened, both for the lateness, and being left off the list.

“In the first instance, he was notified about the session time late into the night, and the second time he showed up late because the club had organized an appointment with him to go through some paperwork.”
