Antonio Nocerino has confessed that he would love to see Mario Balotelli play up front with Stephan El Shaarawy for AC Milan.

Reports linking the Manchester City striker with the Rossoneri have been rife in recent weeks and Nocerino has stated he would welcome the move: “An El Shaarawy-Balotelli pair?  That would be nice,” he told Sky Sport Italia.

“It’s not up to me to choose players though.

“For now, I am enjoying them playing together for the national team.”

The former Palermo midfielder also commented on Milan’s fine away win at Torino at the weekend and Silvio Berlusconi’s return to politics: “It was important to win against a tricky team like Torino.”

“I have tried to put into practice what I have been taught – sacrifice, commitment and a never-say-die attitude.

“I have tried to do that in the good times and the bad times.

“Berlusconi can return to politics, but we need him.  He always gives the players confidence – he is a great motivator,” he added.

The 27-year-old has made 15 appearances for Milan this season.
