Injury-plagued Azzurri striker Giuseppe Rossi looks like he could be on his way back to Serie A in January with Inter and Fiorentina both interested, according to Sky Sports.

The Nerazzurri though must move quickly if they are to sign him though with Wesley Sneijder’s situation needing to be resolved as soon as possible as the Viola have already made contact with the Spanish side and are thought to have agreed a deal in principle.

Villarreal are keen to offload the one-time Parma striker due to their wage constraints given that they dropped into the Segunda last season as he is the highest earner still at the Yellow Submarine.

There are also believed to be a number of foreign sides interested in signing the 25-year-old who has not played in over a year due to suffering two serious cruciate ligament injuries but is hoping to be fit by the end of this year.

The Viola are also hoping that their good rapport with Villarreal will help them to ensure the signing of Rossi due to the fact that they signed both Borja Valero and Gonzalo Rodriguez from the Spaniards during the summer.
