AC Milan coach Massimilano Allegri has confirmed that former Manchester City forward Robinho wants to return to Brazil following the 4-1 win over Pescara.

The Rossoneri are now confined to losing the forward in January as Robinho is now expected to leave Milan and re-join his boyhood team Santos which will be his third stint for the club, who currently lie eighth in the Brasileiro Série A.

Robinho’s departure will come as a blow for Milan as they are without eight first team players that are currently sidelined through injury.

“Robinho has told us he wants to go home to Brazil. Obviously, if he changes his mind then we will be very happy to keep him here, but if he wants to go then it’s right he does.” Allegri said.

“There are some things in life that are out of our hands. Milan are doing well after a negative start, but every single player is improving and fortune is favouring us lately.”

Santos have already had their initial offer rejected however they have confirmed they are still negotiating for Robinho.
