Getafe looking at José Angel option

Spanish outfit are weighing up the option of taking full-back José Angel on loan for the remainder of the season.

The former Spanish under-21 international has spent the first part of the current season on loan at ; however has struggled to break into the first team under Philippe Montanier.

Getafe would be a favourable move for the 23-year-old, as it should offer him more playing time.

José Angel has only featured on eight occasions this season, and only once as a starter, in a 2-1 defeat away to Levante.

The Sporting Gijón youth product was brought to Rome for €4.5 million, by request by former coach Luis Enrique. However he failed to impress in his only year in the Italian capital.

Now out of the plans of current Roma coach, Zdenek Zeman, he was loaned out to Real Sociedad for the year, with hopes he would join the Spanish outfit permanently at the end of the year.

This does not seem likely at present however, due to his lack of playing time; so a move to Getafe looks like a favourable option to all parties involved.

About the Author

- There was always an Italian presence in the home during my childhood, as my parents often lodged out the spare-room to Italian students. Already a child with a keen interest in football, the obsession with calcio that came along with these visitors seemed only natural. Thankfully, I outgrew a Parma jersey I received as a gift from one such student, and traded it for a Roma shirt. The lure of Zeman's gladiator's was irresistible, as was the technique of the young maestro Francesco Totti. 15 years on, and although Totti has gone from young prodigy to legend, Zeman is back and I'm still waving the red and yellow flag.
