Juventus have completed the signing of Fernando Llorente from Athletic Bilbao today after a protracted transfer saga, according to a statement released on the club website.

He will remain with the Spanish side but has signed a contract with the Bianconeri that will start on July 1 and will last for four years.

The 27-year-old was chased by a host of clubs including Barcelona, Real Madrid, Tottenham Hotspur and Liverpool but it is the Old Lady who have secured his signing.

Llorente has been with the Basque giants since he was a boy, only leaving on a short loan deal in 2003, and quickly established himself as a key player upon his return to the club.

In nine years with the club, he has scored 104 goals in 298 appearances and is a real physical presence in the penalty area.

He has also made 21 appearances for the Spanish national side and has won the World Cup and European Championship with them.
