Napoli’s Walter Mazzarri would welcome the challenge of managing the much-maligned Mario Balotelli should he come to Stadio San Paolo.

Partenopei chief Aurelio De Laurentiis said he would love to pair Balotelli with star-striker Edinson Cavani.

There’s been a lot of criticism surrounding Balotelli as he hasn’t played a match for Manchester City since their loss against crosstown rival Manchester United on December 9th.

In addition to his absence from the pitch, photographs surfaced recently of Balotelli in a physical altercation with City boss Roberto Mancini during a training session.

Even with all of that, Mazzarri is adamant in his desire to take on the challenge of managing the young Sicilian.

“I’ve never had the opportunity to meet Balotelli in person,” Mazzarri told Radio Monte Carlo on Wednesday morning. “Only those who have had him in their squad know what problems he could cause, but I have experience and I’d find coaching him stimulating.”
