AC Milan striker Mario Balotelli is very pleased with how he performed in his first game for the club against Udinese.

He has every right to be given that, despite not being meant to start the game, he scored both goals for the Rossoneri in a 2-1 win.

The Azzurri international, talking to Sky Sport said: “I was supposed to be on the bench but then Pazzo got injured during the warm-up so I got to play instead.

“I am happy it turned out like that as I put in a good performance I feel. We are a strong team in attack although I have not played much and at the end my legs did feel heavy so I must keep working to improve my fitness levels.”

The 22-year-old knows he must build upon this good start that could have seen him grab more goals were it not for some fantastic saves from the Udinese goalkeeper.

“It is a good start but I know that now I must continue scoring goals,” said Balotelli. “We created a great deal of chances tonight but Daniele Padelli made some great saves but we deserved to win and in the end we did.”
