Cagliari president Massimo Cellino has been arrested following an enquiry into the contruction of the Stadio Is Arenas.
There was an official investigation into the construction of the Rossoblu’s new home after rumours of fraud and misappropriation.
As well as Cellino, the Mayor of Quartu, Mauro Contini and the commissioner for public works , Stefano Lilliu have also been arrested.
The Is Arenas has been fraught with problems since Cagliari decided to move from the Stadio Sant’Elia.
Issues gaining a permanent safety certificate have dogged the club, and have forced them to play matches in mainland Italy.
