Italian national team boss Cesare Prandelli has been full of applause for AC Milan forwards Mario Balotelli and Stephen El Shaarawy ahead of the Azzurri’s International fixture against Holland.

The Rossoneri strike partnership was confirmed to be starting the match against the Oranje earlier today, and the former Fiorentina tactician went on to suggest that it is a very modern partnership.

“I do not remember seeing a second striker like El Shaarawy,” he told the press. “Someone who contributes so much to the team defensively.

“Balotelli meanwhile must become our central focus.

“He is not a striker in the old-fashioned sense – but a modern forward who can, and must continue, to score every time he gets a chance.”

El Shaarawy, this season, has taken a step forward in his career by realising his potential by becoming the key figure in Milan’s new chapter in developing youth.

He has taken this opportunity and cemented his importance to the Rossoneri by hitting the net 18 times and also with his all-round ability to influence the game with his passing, vision and technical ability in front of goal.

Mario Balotelli, from his debut, has certainly suggested that he and El Shaarawy can prove to form a formidable strike partnership
