Adriano Galliani has insisted he is delighted with AC Milan’s season so far.

The Rossoneri were languishing around the relegation zone in the early part of this year’s campaign, but have since surged up the Serie A table and now sit in fifth place.

“I think we’re having a great season,” he told the press.

“Things could have gone a whole lot worse after completely changing the squad with 12 new players. Instead, I’m proud with what the club are doing.

“The two defeats at the start of the season against Atalanta and Sampdoria weighed us down. But if you look at the results of the last 16 games we’ve totalled 34 points which means we’d be top ahead of Juventus.”

“I look at the positives. We’re a young team and we finished the Cagliari game with one player born in ’94, two in 1992 and two from 1990.

He then went on to talk about the partnership between Mario Balotelli and Stephan El Shaarawy.

“There is no incompatibility. One is a central striker and one a wide attacker.

“El Shaarawy needs to catch his breath, as is only normal. Balotelli, meanwhile, is a star and it is to everyone’s advantage that he is now back in Italy.”
