AC Milan CEO Adriano Galliani has hailed new signing Mario Balotelli as the new Zlatan Ibrahimovic, speaking to reporters this week.

It seems that the Diavolo have now properly replaced the Swede after his summer departure to Paris Saint Germain and Balotelli had a dream debut against Udinese, scoring twice to help Milan win.

Galliani said: “Can he be as good as Ibrahimovic for us? He has the same physicality which he gives the team as well as the charisma just like Ibra as well as a great presence on the field. I think that he is the ideal replacement.”

He also said that the side will give it their all to make the Champions League places and also said he was happy to hear that former player Alexandre Pato had scored on his debut upon returning to Brazil.

“Next year we will play to our best and hopefully we can then make it to third place but we shall see,” he said. “I am happy that Pato scored because he is a great champion and it was just a pity about his injuries but we hope that he will be successful in Brazil.”
