It seems that the long contract saga between and captain could finally be at an end, with the player returning to this summer.

He is nearing the end of his five-year deal and despite being adamant that he would like to remain, he has yet to be offered a new deal by the club leading him to look for a move elsewhere.

TuttoAtalanta¬† are reporting that this unrest in Turin has prompted the interest of La Dea, where he began his career before leaving for in 2005, where he went on to become one of the peninsula’s most feared marksmen.

The 29-year-old has been a major part of the Granata’s comeback season to Serie A this season, scoring seven times and being the club’s top scorer.

He was linked with a move to during the transfer window but nothing came of that perceived interest.
