Miccoli Could Leave
A day after openly criticising Palermo club captain Fabrizio Miccoli, Rosanero owner Maurizio Zamparini has announced the striker could leave the Renzo Barbera at the season’s end.
“He won’t necessarily stay,” Zamparini told the Giornale di Sicilia. “He could leave. He could receive offers that we are unable to match.
“We’ll have to wait and see what happens.”
The striker has been with the Rosanero since 2007, and has tallied 71 goals in 156 games. Miccoli’s contract will run out at the end of the season and Palermo’s possible relegation and Zamparini’s harsh words could sway his decision.
Miccoli is currently Palermo’s top goal scorer with five goals in 2012/13. Palermo are bottom of Serie A on 21 points from 29 matches; only three of which are wins.
