Abbiati only thinking about AC Milan

goalkeeper has reiterated that he is only thinking of his current club amid speculation of a future away from the Rossoneri.

Abbiati’s agent, Claudio Vigorelli, told Spazio Milan that his client wants to extend his stay in Milan, while also stating that a number of English clubs are interested in his services.

“It’s true, there are English sides who are keen, but it is too soon to talk about it. We first want to understand the intentions of Milan.”

“The player is very calm, he’s aware of his ability and he has the desire to remain with the Rossoneri.”

Vigorelli continued by explaining his clients love for the club, while showing his awareness of the clubs contract negotiation tactics when it comes to older players.

“Abbiati wants to end his career with these colours, because you all know how much he is attached to the Rossoneri.”

“We’ll wait for some signals from the club. We’ll certainly meet up with the directors at the end of the season and evaluate the situation.”

Abbiati has featured on 233 occasions for Milan; he also has four international caps to his name.

About the Author

- There was always an Italian presence in the home during my childhood, as my parents often lodged out the spare-room to Italian students. Already a child with a keen interest in football, the obsession with calcio that came along with these visitors seemed only natural. Thankfully, I outgrew a Parma jersey I received as a gift from one such student, and traded it for a Roma shirt. The lure of Zeman's gladiator's was irresistible, as was the technique of the young maestro Francesco Totti. 15 years on, and although Totti has gone from young prodigy to legend, Zeman is back and I'm still waving the red and yellow flag.
