AC Milan’s midfielder pleased by Napoli interest
The agent of AC Milan midfielder Antonio Nocerino has stated that his client would be open to a move to Napoli this summer.
Although no club has made any concrete offers for the 27-year-old, Marco Sommella has given the green light for any interested clubs to start making offers due to his client’s lack of playing time as of late with the Rossoneri.
“Antonio has not been a regular starter in the side since Christmas,” he stated in an interview with Radio Kiss Kiss.
“It’s never a good thing to lose your starting spot, but we are here and ready to accept whatever the coach decides.
“[Of course], if the Azzurri want Antonio to strengthen their midfield then we have to be pleased about that.
“However, for now neither we nor Milan have received any offers for his services.”
Nocerino, who was signed on deadline day last summer for just €500,000 from Palermo, turned out to be one of the best signings for the Rossoneri last season, scoring ten league goals and one in the Champions League.
Yet, despite being Milan’s second highest scorer last season, the former Palermo man has found playing time hard to come by due to increased competition in the midfield and has been restricted to just 14 league starts so far this season.
