German giants Bayern Munich are now in the running to try and tempt Edinson Cavani away from Napoli during the summer transfer window.

Chelsea, Manchester City and Real Madrid have all been frequently linked with ‘El Matador’ but as yet nobody has met the club’s large asking fee with an offer which president Aurelio De Laurentiis said clubs would be ‘crazy’ to pay.

Apparently though, Juventus’ Champions League opponents will offer €70m plus the services of midfielder Anatoliy Tymoschuk to the Partenopei to try and bring the Uruguayan to Bavaria,Tuttosportare reporting.

The negotiation could be helped by the two clubs’ good relationship, something that was built upon during their meeting in the Champions League group stages last year, and could make Pep Guardiola’s new side the front runners to securing his signature.

Cavani ended his long goal drought this past weekend with a double against Atalanta and has 28 goals in 31 starts in all competitions this season.
