Sion player-coach Gennaro Gattuso was on Silvio Berlusconi’s wish-list to become AC Milan coach earlier this season, his agent has revealed.

During the difficult period for the Rossoneri earlier in the campaign, Berlusconi had identified the former player as an option for succeeding Massimiliano Allegri on the bench if he had decided to dispense with the Scudetto-winning tactician.

Talking to Sky, agent Andrea D’Amico said: “It is true that they had tried and Berlusconi wanted Gattuso on the Milan bench.

“Rino is a coach of great temperament and is a perfectionist in everything that he does. At Sion he has also never been sent off, either as a coach or as a player.”

The Diavolo did decide to keep Allegri in the end though and it has paid dividends for them as they are now closing in on Napoli in the race for second place.

I don’t accept this idea b/s Gattuso hasn’t Couching experience in addition to, His Behavior not attractive to lead this Great team. On My Opinion, frank Rjicard is my First choice Coach For Milan Or Van Basten is Another Nice Coach.
