Chiellini ruled out of Azzurri matches

Juventus vice-captain Giorgio Chiellini will not be part of the Italy squad as they prepare for matches against Brazil and Malta

The Juventus defender picked up an ankle injury during his team’s 2-0 win against Bologna over the weekend.

“We conducted new tests on Chiellini’s condition this morning and, although recent therapy has improved his condition, I can say with certainty he will not be available for the Brazil game,” national team doctor Enrico Castellacci told the official FIGC website.

It is not known at this time whether Chiellini will miss any time with Juventus due to the injury.
