Rome-born midfielder and former player of both them and Juventus, Angelo Di Livio, has pleaded with the Giallorossi to make a move for defender Andrea Barzagli.

The former Azzurri international played for his hometown club for a solitary season while also enjoying a successful tenure with the Bianconeri in the ’90s.

“I really do wish that Roma would sign Barzagli,” he told Radio Sport Mana. “The midfield and attack are in good shape but the defensive department could be really reinforced with the signing of Barzagli.

“In a three man defence like Juventus use, you would pay a lot of money for a central defender as good as him.”

The 31-year-old has already started 41 games in all competitions for the Old Lady this season, becoming a true ever present.

Roma were linked with a move for him during his days at Palermo but he chose to join Wolfsburg instead.
