Inter attacker unlikely to join Atletico Madrid

Inter midfielder Ricky Alvarez is unlikely to join La Liga side Atletico Madrid at the end of the season.

The 24-year-old, who joined Inter from Velez Sarsfield, has been strongly linked with a move to the Spanish side, though his agent does not consider such a move likely.

Speaking to the Spanish media, Alvarez’s representative Marcelo Simonian said: “I really don’t believe that Alvarez will sign for Atletico.”

Alvarez has not had a great campaign in his second year at the Milanese club, having been afflicted by injury and poor form.

He has only started four games so far this season, scoring one goal in 14 appearances overall.
