Inter looking to replace troubled striker with two players in Summer
Inter are interested in trading Antonio Cassano as part of a swap deal for Sampdoria’s Mauro Icardi, and are also interested in Alessandro Diamanti.
Despite considering a contract extension last week with the Nerazzurri, it now appears the former Roma and Milan forward is on the move again after his training ground clash with Andrea Stramaccioni.
The forward has been fined €400,000, but the Italian is still considered a loose cannon and Massimo Moratti will look to offload in summer.
A possible destination would be Sampdoria, as Genoa was where Cassano was reportedly happiest, and would willing to acquiesce to a return. The Bari native could be used as part of the negotiations for Argentine youngster Mauro Icardi, who Inter see as their vice-Milito.
Another player piquing the interest of Inter is Alessandro Diamanti, who has been a revelation for Bologna in the last two years. With the possible exit of Ricky Alvarez in addition to Cassano joining the exits of Philippe Coutinho and Wesley Sneijder – the need for a creative player is great.
