UEFA have charged Inter with “racist behaviour” following last week’s Europa League second leg tie against Tottenham Hotspur.

According to reports, monkey chants and an inflatable banana were two of the items that were reported by officials to be directed toward Spurs’ players. Tottenham won the match thanks to an extra-time goal from Emmanuel Adebayor, putting the London club into the last eight.

Along with racial abuse, Inter have also been accused by UEFA of “insufficient organisation” and “throwing of missiles and/or fireworks”.

Inter become the second Serie A club to be charged over their behaviour. Earlier in the competition Lazio supporters were fined for two separate incidents.

Inter have already been fined by Serie A following the racial abuse fans gave to former Nerazzurri players Mario Balotelli and Sulley Muntari. Inter were fined €50,000 for that incident in the Derby della Madonnina.

The case against Inter will be heard by UEFA on April 19.

Here we go again, surely someone, somewhere by now has realised that fining the clubs is having between little and no impact on this problem. Until they start going after the perpetrators and actually impose a punishment worth fearing this will not change. It is now becoming a joke in terms of how the problem is dealt with. Someone tell me how fining the club €50K is going to make any difference to the mindless, racist, shit for brains idiots who just love to do this every week. Why is no-one learning?
