Liverpool striker open to Juventus offer

’s has hinted that he would be interested in moving to this summer.

The Uruguayan attacker would like to play Champions League football next season, and the Bianconeri, who are currently top in would certainly give him that opportunity.

“I am very happy at Liverpool, but you never know in football,” Suarez stated to Uruguayan reporters ahead of a World Cup qualifying clash with Paraguay.

“A player’s ambition is always there, [and] the ambition of playing in elite teams is always there.”

However, he was quick to praise his current team while making it clear that he would be open to offers from other ‘elite teams’.

“I’m in a world-class team, an elite team like Liverpool. [However], if another team comes around with more prospects of competing in international club competition games, which is willing to have me, they are welcome.”

Juventus have reportedly been interested in the 26-year-old attacker since last summer, and are reportedly gearing up to make an offer as they look to strengthen their attack ahead of next season’s league and Champions League campaigns.

Suarez, who joined the Reds from Ajax in January 2011, has been a key player for the Premier League side this season, scoring 29 goals in 40 appearances.

About the Author

- I'm an aspiring journalist who's new here at FIF (started in March) and have been a fan of football (or soccer it's called here in the U.S.) for as long as I can remember. Started playing at the age of 4 and growing up, Pele vs. Maradona was debated in my house almost as much as the latest presidential candidate. I'm a huge fan of Milan as well as the Italian and Ghanaian NT's (where my family hails from). You can find me talking about the beautiful game with everyone from friends, family, random strangers--the hairdresser, the pizza guy, anyone willing to listen. So, after years of putting up with me constantly running my mouth, some buddies suggested I put my thoughts down on paper, and I started writing last year for fun in my spare time.

He’d be a great addition for Juve, because their attack is their only weak point, IMO. The guys they currently have are solid, but not spectacular and Suarez would really help to sharpen things especially as they’re preparing for the CL next season.
