Marchisio issues rallying cry to Juventus teammates

has entreated his teammates not to lose focus and issued a rallying cry as they head into the final stretch of the season.

The midfielder expressed his satisfaction of their victory on Saturday against Bologna, which sees them nine points clear of second-placed and makes them a near certainty to claim the Scudetto this season.

“Against Bologna, we won three important points,” he stated to Tuttosport.

He also reflected on his upcoming hectic schedule, which sees him in national team action against Brazil and Malta before returning to league action against Inter and then taking on Bayern Munich in the Champions League.

“It’s going to be a tour de force: The National team, Inter, and two days later Bayern. It’s harsh, but I’m not afraid.”

The 27-year-old Italian international has spent nearly his entire professional career with the Turin giants, save for a one year loan spell with Empoli in the 2007-2008 season. He has since developed into a key player for the 28-time Scudetto winners, contributing seven goals and seven assists so far this season in all competitions.

Marchisio’s performances in midfield alongside Arturo Vidal and Andrea Pirlo this season have won praise from fans and critics alike as the Bianconeri look to retain their crown and extend their run in the Champions League.

About the Author

- I'm an aspiring journalist who's new here at FIF (started in March) and have been a fan of football (or soccer it's called here in the U.S.) for as long as I can remember. Started playing at the age of 4 and growing up, Pele vs. Maradona was debated in my house almost as much as the latest presidential candidate. I'm a huge fan of Milan as well as the Italian and Ghanaian NT's (where my family hails from). You can find me talking about the beautiful game with everyone from friends, family, random strangers--the hairdresser, the pizza guy, anyone willing to listen. So, after years of putting up with me constantly running my mouth, some buddies suggested I put my thoughts down on paper, and I started writing last year for fun in my spare time.
