Palermo sack Gasperini…again

have officially announced that Gian Piero Gasperini has agreed to mutually terminate his contract.

The Rosanero lost to Siena on Sunday in what was a key match in their attempts to avoid relegation. The result now sees the team in last place,  five points out of safety.

As a result President Maurizio Zamparini has sacked the Turin native for the second time this season. Gasperini was originally sacked on February 4 and replaced by Alberto Malesani. He was incredibly re-hired only 19 days later.

Palermo director Giorgio Perinetti has announced that the club will decide on a successor this evening, with ’s return a realistic possibility.

“Between tonight and tomorrow we will have a meeting to decide on the new coach,” he told reporters.

“Sannino’s return is possible, but there is nothing official yet. We are working on it, and by tomorrow you will have news of a new coach.”

- A passionate F.C. Internazionale supporter since the young age of 10, my love for the club came about on a family trip to Italy after their signing of Roberto Baggio. Much to the dismay of my father (a Milan fan) my love for the club only grew stronger and has taken me on trips to Genova and Boston to see my club in action. The greatest of these journeys was being blessed by incredible luck (to which this day I still cannot comprehend) which allowed me to travel to Madrid, see the 2010 Champions League Final in the flesh and experience a week-long trip that will probably never be surpassed. Feel free to add me on Twitter to talk about Inter, Italy or calcio in general @Boin44
