Racist chanting overshadows Primavera Coppa Italia final
Juventus are at the centre of another offensive chanting probe after it emerged that their fans chanted racist and insulting abuse during the first leg of their Coppa Italia final with Napoli.
The game took place at Juventus Stadium and ended in a 1-1 draw, giving Napoli the advantage ahead of the second leg, but was marred by a series of chants.
From the curva, there were racist chants heard being sung against AC Milan’s Mario Balotelli, according to Reuters while chants of “we hope Vesuvius washes you away with fire” were also heard.
A similar tune was also heard in their weekend league clash at home against Catania which resulted in them being hit with a fine of €4,000.
However, it must be noted that the rest of the crowd, some 16,000 in total, booed and jeered upon hearing these chants being sung.
