Sampdoria owner yet to decide young striker’s future
New Sampdoria chief Edoardo Garrone says that he will make a decision “at the appropriate time” on revelation Mauro Icardi’s future.
The 20 year-old has attracted the attention of top clubs around the peninsula with eight goals in 20 appearances this term, with Inter in particular publicly expressing their interest.
However, Garrone insists that he will not be influenced by fans in choosing the young striker’s fate, whilst also mentioning that he intends to build a winning Blucerchiati team.
“I will decide at the appropriate time,” he said to Blitz Quotidiano. “When I do I’ll have to put aside my heart because a chairman cannot be influenced by the supporters.
“I will have to use my head [when considering his future].
“But I want to strengthen the Sampdoria team too. I like winning.”
